DITO adds 18 more areas to its service coverage; now in 158 cities
New telecommunications player DITO Telecommunity Corp. said Thursday it continues to expand its presence as it added 18 more areas for its mobile network service coverage.
With this, DITO said it is now commercially available in 158 cities and municipalities across the country.
The 18 new areas where the third telco’s services are now available are the following:
- Llanera, Nueva Ecija
- Santo Domingo, Nueva Ecija
- Mangatarem, Pangasinan
- Basista, Pangasinan
- Binmaley, Pangasinan
- San Manuel, Pangasinan
- Ramos, Tarlac
- Talisay, Batangas
- Mataas na Kahoy, Batangas
- Bauan, Batangas
- San Pascual, Batangas
- Alitagtag, Batangas
- Alfonso, Cavite
- Kabankalan, Negros Occidental
- Valladolid, Negros Occidental
- Maco, Davao De Oro
- Trento, Agusan Del Sur
- Bayugan, Agusan Del Sur
Since its commercial launch on March 8, DITO has grown its network coverage from 15 pilot areas to 158.
DITO is set to undergo its second technical audit in July, to check if the company has fulfilled its second year commitments.
DITO — formerly named the Mislatel Consortium — committed to have a nationwide coverage of 51.01% in its second year of operations, with a minimum speed of 55 Mbps and a capex/opex of P27 billion.
"True to our commitment of providing stronger connectivity to more Filipinos, DITO continues to work tirelessly in order to commercially expand our coverage to new areas all over the Philippines," said Adel Tamano, DITO chief administrative officer.
Meanwhile, DITO said that starting July 15 until September 30, new existing subscribers can avail of the telco’s 25GB of high-speed data for 30 days with unlimited texts to all networks, unlimited DITO-to-DITO calls, and 300 minutes of calls to other mobile networks for P199.
Another promo available to DITO subscribers is the P99 offer with 10GB of data for 30 days, unlimited DITO to DITO calls, 300 minutes of calls to all mobile networks, and unlimited SMS to all networks. — Ted Cordero/RSJ, GMA News
