Realme is PHL’s top smartphone brand –research firms

Chinese gadget maker realme is the top smartphone vendor in the Philippines for two straight quarters, according to reports by international marketing research firms.

Citing reports from Canalys and Counterpoint Research, realme said it emerged as the country’s no. 1 smartphone brand for the first and second quarters of 2021.

In its report, Canalys said realme accounted for 26% of the Philippines’ smartphone market in the second quarter with a 51% annual growth.

Counterpoint Research, meanwhile, said realme topped the market with a 21% market share.

“This year, realme further cemented its position as the no. 1 smartphone brand in the country as it emerged as the top smartphone vendor for two consecutive quarters according to separate reports from marketing research firms Canalys and Counterpoint Research,” the gadget maker said.

Realme entered the Philippine market in November 2018.

“In just less than three years, realme has managed to achieve unimaginable success in the Philippines, and we could not have done this without the incredible support of our fans and community. Knowing that we have the realme Squad with us every step of the way pushes us to outdo ourselves and reach greater heights,” said Austine Huang, realme Philippines’ vice president for Marketing.

“We are truly grateful for your loyalty, and we hope that our Global Fan Fest this month will spread joy and optimism amid these challenging times,” Huang added. — DVM, GMA News
