The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) on Saturday said Severe Tropical Storm Paeng caused temporary power interruptions which affected over one million customers.
In an advisory, Meralco said that it has recorded momentary and sustained power interruptions affecting 1,143,499 customers across its franchise area since Saturday morning.
“As of 11:00 a.m. today, affected customers are already down to 101,516, majority of them are in parts of Batangas and Quezon and the rest are in parts of Metro Manila, Laguna, Cavite, Rizal and Bulacan,” the company said.
“Our crews are working round the clock to restore power at the soonest possible time,” it added.
