Grab partners with PSA, DTI to hasten nat’l ID registration of delivery riders


Rides and delivery platform Grab Philippines is working with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to expedite the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration of its partner delivery riders.

In a statement, Grab Philippines director for Public Affairs Sherielysse Bonifacio said tapping the PSA and DTI is aimed to ”help the government in its national ID registration drive as it recognizes how this can benefit our delivery partners.”

“The national IDs provide our delivery partners with more than just a reliable means of identification; it will also make it easier for them to avail of government services and benefits,” Bonifacio said.

The DTI and PSA recently launched the Institutional PhilSys Registration of Delivery-Riders.

The program prioritizes the registration of beneficiaries of various government social protection program

“To realize the full potential of PhilSys, I highly encourage our partners to also integrate with Philsys and take advantage of the various authentication services that PSA will be developing. This will allow our delivery riders to enjoy the conveniences and benefits of having a digital ID,” said Deputy National Statistician Fred Sollesta.

As of March 31, around 77.97 million Filipinos, or 84.7% of PSA’s total target, have registered for the PhilSys or national ID system.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
