2 Japanese locators open facilities in Science Park

The Science Park of the Philippines Incorporated (SPPI) has welcomed two Japanese corporations as its new locator companies in its two industrial parks in Cebu and Batangas. 

The Tamiya Corporation, known for its high-quality hobby model kits, recently opened a P1 billion facility in the Cebu Light Industrial Park (CLIP) in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. 

According to SPPI, most Tamiya products distributed worldwide are made in the Philippines.

The  Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) said the Japanese company contributes an estimated $24 million in annual exports and employs at least 1,000 Filipinos.

Likewise, Ohtsuka Poly-tech Philippines — an affiliate of Ohtsuka Poly-Tech Co. LTD — inaugurated a new facility at the Light Industry and Science Park (LISP) IV in Malvar, Batangas. 

A longtime locator of SPPI, the company provides the widest range of solutions to the international automotive industry. 

It is also among the country’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of rubber products and plastic parts for automobiles, electrical, and household appliances.
