URC appoints Milagros David as first president of branded consumer foods business

Universal Robina Corp. (URC), the food manufacturing unit of the Gokongwei Group, has appointed Milagros “Mian” David as the first president of its branded consumer foods business in the country.

Under her new role, David will oversee URC’s branded consumer foods, driving strategic initiatives to strengthen the company’s market leadership and drive sustainable growth.

“We want to focus on driving topline and market share. And we will do that by remembering our mission: to delight the people we serve,” she said in a statement.

Prior to her appointment, David served as managing director for URC International and chief marketing officer, expanding the company’s businesses in Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia.

She joined URC in 2018 as vice president for beverages, reviving the growth of Great Taste coffee, and led the reengineering of the C2 portfolio.

URC has earmarked at least P8 billion for its capital spending this year, with a focus on expanding its facilities and capacity. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
