Solon seeks probe into PrimeWater services

Zambales Representative Jefferson Khonghun announced on Tuesday his intention to launch a congressional investigation into the operations of PrimeWater Infrastructure Corp. nationwide, citing numerous service-related complaints.

“I’ll be filing a congressional investigation para sa lahat ng PrimeWater sa buong Pilipinas when our session starts,” Khonghun, who also chairs the House Special Committee on Bases Conversion, said in a statement.

(I will be filing a congressional inquiry into all PrimeWater operations across the Philippines once our session resumes.)

Khonghun pointed to recurring complaints from residents of Subic, Zambales, including inconsistent water supply, delayed service restoration after outages, and the company’s failure to fulfill promised infrastructure improvements.

“Although you are not under the LGU of Subic, PrimeWater may responsibility kayo sa tao. Pero now sobra na,” Khonghun said.

(Even if you’re not under the jurisdiction of the Subic local government, PrimeWater, you still have a responsibility to the people—and you've gone too far.)

“We have given you enough time to improve your services. Sabi niyo last meeting pandemic is the reason kaya may backlog kayo sa development,” he added.

(You’ve had more than enough time to improve your services. In our last meeting, you blamed the pandemic for the backlog in your development efforts.)
