Pump prices down for second straight week Tuesday, July 8, 2025
Motorists will be greeted with cheaper pump prices of petroleum products again this week, as retailers on Monday announced another round of rollbacks, but this will still not be enough to offset the hikes implemented so far this year.
In separate advisories, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Petron Corp., Seaoil Philippines Corp. and Shell Pilipinas Corp. said they will lower prices per liter of gasoline by P0.70, diesel by P0.10, and kerosene by P0.80.
Cleanfuel, Petro Gazz Ventures Philippines Corp., and PTT Philippines Corp. will implement the same changes, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.
The adjustments will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 for all the firms except for Cleanfuel which will roll back prices at 8:01 a.m. the same day.
Other firms have yet to make similar announcements for the week.
This is in line with market expectations, as Jetti Petroleum earlier projected rollbacks this week, citing the easing tensions in the Middle East, the prospects of additional supplies, and worries about the impact of US tariff uncertainties on the global economy and fuel demand.
Retailers last week rolled back prices of gasoline by P1.40, diesel by P1.80, and kerosene by P2.20. —AOL/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
