Big-time pump price hike set Tuesday, August 5, 2025
Motorists will have to pay more for petroleum products this week, as retailers on Monday announced another round of hikes to mark the fourth straight week of increases for both diesel and kerosene.
In separate advisories, Petron Corp., Seaoil Philippines Corp., and Shell Pilipinas Corp. said they will hike prices per liter of gasoline by P1.90, diesel by P1.20, and kerosene by P1.00.
Cleanfuel and Petro Gazz will implement the same changes, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.
Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex) will also increase prices per liter of gasoline by P1.30, diesel by P0.90, and kerosene by P0.75.
The adjustments will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, for all the firms except for Cleanfuel which will adjust prices at 4:01 p.m. the same day.
Other firms have yet to make similar announcements for the week.
The Department of Energy-Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) earlier projected hikes this week, citing renewed concerns over supply disruptions following US President Donald Trump’s sanction on Russia and Iranian oil, and homes of improved economic activity after the US-EU trade deal.
Firms last week rolled back prices per liter of gasoline by P0.10, while hiking those of diesel by P0.15, and kerosene by P0.20. —KG/RF, GMA Integrated News
