PropertyGuru Awards spotlight sustainable growth, regional expansion

The 13th PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards, held on August 15 at Shangri-La, The Fort, celebrated excellence in real estate across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. This year’s winners reflected a decisive shift toward sustainable urbanization and regional diversification, with developers embracing ESG principles and expanding beyond Metro Manila.

Sustainability and regional reach take center stage

Robinsons Land Corporation led the roster of honorees, securing the Best Developer title for the fourth consecutive year. It also earned Best Luxury Developer and Best Sustainable Developer, underscoring its leadership in high-end and environmentally responsible real estate.

Chairman Lance Y. Gokongwei was presented with the inaugural Life Achievement Award for his long-standing contributions to the industry and investments in renewable energy.

Cebu Landmasters, Inc. was named Best Developer for both Visayas and Mindanao, with project wins including Mivela Garden Residences and Velmiro Plains Bacolod. Damosa Land, Inc. won Best Boutique Developer, recognized for Agriya Gardens, Kahi Estates, and Bridgeport Park.

Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates was awarded Best Industrial Developer for its work on LIMA Estate and Biz Hub at LIMA Estate. Its president and CEO, Rafael Fernandez de Mesa, received the Real Estate Personality of the Year award for championing sustainable, industrial-anchored developments.

SM Estates earned Best Township Development for the SM Mall of Asia Complex, while Jessica Bianca T. Sy of SM Prime & SMDC was honored with the Rising Star award for her leadership in design and innovation.

 

 

 

ESG Excellence and Market Outlook

The awards also spotlighted achievements in ESG. RLC Residences won for Sustainable Design and Energy Efficiency, while RLove by Robinsons Land Foundation received the Social Impact Award.

According to Jules Kay, general manager of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Events, the 2025 winners exemplify how Philippine developers are adapting to a decentralized market. “We’re seeing a strong mix of vertical and landed developments, commercial hubs, and industrial zones that match the preferences of Filipino property seekers across the archipelago,” Kay said.

Cyndy Tan Jarabata, chairperson of the Awards and president of TAJARA Leisure & Hospitality Group Inc., emphasized the sector’s resilience and innovation. “This year’s honorees have elevated industry standards and contributed to national economic progress,” she noted.

Next Stage: Regional recognition

Philippine winners now qualify for the 20th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final in Bangkok this December, where they will compete with top developers from across Asia-Pacific further solidifying the country’s growing influence in the region’s real estate ecosystem. — BM, GMA Integrated News
