Gasoline pump prices up; diesel and kerosene down Tuesday, August 19, 2025
Pump prices of gasoline will be hiked while those of diesel and kerosene will be rolled back for the second straight week on Tuesday, fuel retailers announced Monday.
In separate advisories, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Flying V, Petron Corp., Seaoil Philippines Corp. and Shell Pilipinas Corp. said they will increase prices per liter of gasoline by P0.60, while rolling back those of diesel by P0.80, and kerosene by P0.90.
Cleanfuel, Petro Gazz, PTT Philippines Corp., and Unioil Petroleum Philippines Inc. will implement the same changes, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.
The adjustments will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, for all the firms, except for Cleanfuel which will implement the changes at 8:01 a.m. the same day.
Other firms have yet to make similar announcements for the week.
The Department of Energy-Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) earlier projected increases for gasoline and rollbacks for both diesel and kerosene this week, citing the aggressive supply growth, weaker global demand, and easing trade tensions between US and China.
Firms last week rolled back prices per liter of gasoline by P0.40, diesel by P1.50, and kerosene by P1.30.
This brought the year-to-date adjustments to a net increase of P10.80 per liter for gasoline, P12.75 per liter for diesel, and P2.65 per liter for kerosene as of August 12, 2025. —with a report from Sherylin Untalan/KG/RF, GMA Integrated News
