PAL flight to Osaka returns to Manila due to cabin pressure issue

PAL flight to Osaka returns to Manila due to cabin pressure issue

A Philippine Airlines (PAL) plane bound for Osaka, Japan, on Wednesday returned to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport because of a cabin pressure issue.

In a statement, PAL said PR 412, operated by an Airbus A321-231 (A321CEO) with registry RP-C9928, experienced a cabin pressurization issue at 10:08 a.m. while traveling to Kansai International Airport in Osaka.

“In accordance with safety protocols, the flight crew initiated a descent to a lower altitude and declared an emergency as a precautionary measure,” the airline said.

“The issue was subsequently resolved, and emergency protocols were downgraded,” the flag carrier added.

PAL said PR 412 “landed safely" at NAIA at around 11:20 a.m.

All 191 passengers and eight crew members have safely disembarked, it said.

“Our ground operations team is providing full assistance to affected passengers, including meals, baggage support, and rebooking arrangements for their onward travel,” PAL said.

“Philippine Airlines places the highest priority on the safety and well-being of our passengers and crew, and we are in coordination with the relevant authorities,” it added. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
