PH Stock Exchange officials join Trillion Peso March vs. corruption

Officials and staff of the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) and the Philippine Dealing System holdings Corp. (PDS) on Sunday joined the “Trillion Peso March,” to protest corruption, and the recent issues involving alleged anomalous flood control projects.

Among the PSE officials that joined were PSE president Ramon Monzon, and chief operating officer Roel Refran, with photos posted by the official PSE X account.

Rallyists on Sunday attended mass demonstrations, in protest of the alleged corruption in flood control projects across the country. These were also attended by Filipino celebrities and personalities.

“The Trillion Peso March is not just a protest—it is a moral call. On September 21, we show that the people will not be silenced by corruption and abuse. Together, we march in peace, but with firm conviction, to demand a government worthy of our trust,” said Kiko Aquino Dee of Tindig Pilipinas  earlier.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. last month bared that 20% of the total P545-billion budget for flood control projects went to only 15 contractors, which he described as a “disturbing assessment.”

The President has also vowed to ensure that those involved in anomalous projects would be held accountable, triggering both chambers of Congress to launch their own probes into the issue.

The government has also formed the Independent Commission for Infrastructure, which will conduct its own investigation on the irregularities in infrastructure projects, and ensure accountability in the use of public funds.

The commission is chaired by former Supreme Court Justice Andres Bernal Reyes Jr., and counts as members for Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio “Babes” Singson, and SGV and Co. country managging partner Rossana Fajardo. It will also have Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong as special adviser.
