Alliance Global nets P24.8B in Jan.-Sept. 2025

Tycoon Andrew Tan’s diversified conglomerate Alliance Global Group Inc. (AGI) on Wednesday reported a 24% annual growth in its bottom line for the first nine months, driven by higher gains and cost management during the period.

AGI’s net income grew to P24.8 billion, as the company recorded a one-time gain of P3.4-billion from the deconsolidation of its quick-serve restaurants business Golden Arches Development Corp. (GADC), the Philippine franchisee of McDonald’s, which is now treated as an associate.

Excluding one-off gains, core net income rose by 10% to P21.2 billion, while core attributable net income grew 8% to P13.9 billion.

The company attributed the growth to the stronger performance of AGI’s office and malls businesses, the contribution from its residential segment, and the hospitality business.

“During the period, we saw a sequential improvement in office and mall rentals, and steady contribution from our residential and hospitality segments,” AGI president and chief executive officer Kevin Tan said.

Listed township developer Megaworld recorded a 16% increase in its net income to P15.9 billion. Megaworld Premier Offices saw a 16% improvement in its rental income to P11.1 billion, Lifestyle Malls a 13% increase in revenue to P5.1 billion, and Hotels and Resorts up 13% to P4.1 billion.

“Despite global economic challenges, our spirits business has managed to gain traction in the international market,” Tan said.

Emperador posted P41.2-billion in consolidated revenues for the nine-month period, bringing attributable net profit to P4.7 billion, with a global distribution network of over 100 countries.

“What provided an added lift in Group earnings and margins is our ongoing cost management efforts, which we implement across the business. As we build a culture of cost awareness, we hope to further enhance our operating efficiencies moving forward,” Tan said.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
