PAL to allow small dogs to fly with fur parents to Boracay, Bohol, Siargao

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Wednesday announced a new program that allows passengers to fly with their small dog in-cabin to local destinations such as Boracay, Bohol, and Siargao, for P2,500 one-way base fares starting November 12, 2025.

Under the FurPAL Program, booking will be available for small dog breeds up to 10 kilograms and at least eight weeks old, and fully weaned. Passengers may bring one pet each, with a limit of three small dogs per flight.

Pets should be in a soft-sided, leak-proof pet carrier that will be placed under the seat in front of the passenger for the duration of the flight, with a maximum size of 17 inches by 11 inches by 9.5 inches.

“We are initially offering this service for small dogs, and can expand to other dog sizes and pet types depending on aviation security and safety regulations,” PAL vice president for marketing Alvin Miranda said in an advisory.

The company reported its 15th straight profitable quarter in the April to June period, driven mainly by higher passenger volumes. It reported a 48% increase in its net income to $60 million, as revenues climbed 6% to $831 million while operating income rose 10% to $71 million. —Jon Viktor Cabuenas/RF, GMA Integrated News
