GoTyme eyes 11M customers, 50% loan growth in 2026

GoTyme eyes 11M customers, 50% loan growth in 2026

Gokongwei-backed lender GoTyme Bank Corp., one of six digital banks approved by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), said Wednesday it is looking to grow its loan book by at least 50% and grow its customer base by 3 million users in 2026.

According to GoTyme President and Chief Executive Officer Nathanial Clarke, the bank is set to hit 10 million customers by the middle of 2026, ahead of the five years it set as a target in 2022. It expects to end 2026 with 11 million customers.

"I said when we launched the bank, it's going to take five years to reach 10 (million customers), but we're going to do it in three and a half. We're very happy with growth," he told reporters in Quezon City.

"I think now we're very much focused on expanding the lending products, expanding the investment products, and expanding the remittance offering," he added.

This comes as the Philippines was hit by several typhoons and earthquakes in the recent months, causing some 60 kiosks of the bank to go offline.

GoTyme had 8 million subscribers as of Wednesday, November 26, and is set to end the year with 8.3 million customers as it continues to onboard 250,000 to 300,000 users monthly. It earlier planned to hit 9 million users in 2025.

"I was hoping we were going to go to 350 (thousand) per month. I think we've crossed 300 (thousand) a couple of times, but in particular, we had a couple of soft months with the typhoons," Clarke said.

In terms of loans, Clarke said the bank is looking to grow by 50% in the coming year. It doubled its loan books to P6 billion from P3 billion.

"In the next few years, we're forecasting more than 50% growth on the financial metrics, and then continue to grow three to four million customers a year," he said.

Aside from this, Clarke said GoTyme is looking to expand its offerings to include local equities. The bank is looking to partner with stock brokerage firm DragonFi Securities to roll out the service in the first quarter of 2026.

"We just fully rolled out crypto over the last month. We always start with 1% of the customer base, give it to the 10%, and now 100% of the customer base can access crypto trading, and the next step is local stocks," he said.

In the same interview, Clarke said GoTyme users were the top enrollees of Google Pay, which was launched in the Philippines on November 18, 2025.

"We were informed by Visa that we're actually the number one in terms of newly registered (users), as well as payment value since launch two weeks ago today. So it's been explosive in terms of uptake, which means we're very excited for the other, Apple Pay, next year," he said.

"We also want to be first in the market on Apple… We'll definitely be ready. I'll make sure," he added.

GoTyme secured its government license last August after the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) approved the firm and five other entities to operate as digital banks in the country. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
