Cebu Pacific: Normal operations resume after software update completion
Budget carrier Cebu Pacific said Sunday that normal operations have resumed after it completed the mandatory software update to its fleet of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft.
“We extend our sincere thanks to our passengers for their patience and understanding throughout this disruption. We are also grateful to our airport authorities and government partners for their swift and vital support, which enabled the quick recovery of our airport operations and flight services,” the airline said in a statement.
Over 15,000 passengers of at least three air carriers in the Philippines were affected by the software update for the Airbus A320 family of jets, with nearly a hundred of their flights either canceled or delayed.
Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines canceled 78 domestic flights due to the software update of their A320 and A321 Airbus fleets. Meanwhile, AirAsia had a total of 11 flights delayed due to the interruption.
Further, Cebu Pacific advised its affected passengers that it continues to offer free rebooking and conversion to travel funds.
“CEB continues to offer flexible options, including free rebooking and conversion to Travel Fund, for those who wish to postpone their domestic or international flights scheduled from November 30 to December 1, 2025. These options may be accessed through the Manage Booking portal on the CEB website up to two (2) hours before the scheduled departure time,” it added.
The airline also said that passengers may check their flight status via this link. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
