FFCCCII, Chinese ambassador discuss PH-China tourism, business opportunities

FFCCCII, Chinese ambassador discuss PH-China tourism, business opportunities

The Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) on Tuesday said it highlighted the state of Philippine export and tourism sectors ahead of the 2025 ASEAN Summit during a dialogue with newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Jing Quan.

In a statement, FFCCCII said that the dialogue with Jing focused on enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries in line with directives from President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. to bridge international partnerships.

Among the plans proposed by the FFCCCII were “balanced and mutually beneficial exchanges” on the active promotion of Philippine products in major Chinese forums, boosting the Philippines as a premier tourist spot for Chinese travelers, and empowering Philippine enterprises.

The FFCCCII is also slated to host the 2026 ASEAN Chinese Business Leaders Summit in Manila in October, alongside the 2026 ASEAN Summit to be hosted by the country.

“The business federation’s engagement reflects a broader consensus on sustaining positive momentum in the multifaceted Philippines-China relationship. This drive for stronger regional economic integration carries greater urgency than ever, as global protectionist trends underscore the critical need for robust trade and business ties within ASEAN and with China,” read the statement. — Jiselle Anne C.
