Hotel101 to build Melbourne’s biggest hotel

Hotel101 Global Pte. Ltd., the Singapore-headquartered subsidiary of DoubleDragon Corp., has inked binding agreements to develop a 766-room hotel in the Melbourne Central Business District, set to be the biggest in the area.

The hotel will be located along Flinders Lane, with 4-star amenities, with a swimming pool, full-size gym, business center, children’s pool, rooftop bar, ample parking, and luggage storage, among others. It is expected to generate AU$323.6 million in sales revenue or P12.6 billion.

“This strategic site positions the property as an ideal hub for leisure and business travelers seeking seamless access to Melbourne’s cultural, commercial, and sporting hubs and will complement the existing premium hotel offerings in the CBD (central business district),” the company said.

Hotel101 did not elaborate on the investment cost, adding that the development is subject to the customary national, regional, and municipal regulatory approvals.

This will add to Hotel101’s first three overseas projects located in Niseko Hokkaido, Japan; Madrid, Spain; and Los Angeles, California, in the United States, which are set to jumpstart its expansion to other areas as it targets to accumulate a portfolio of 1 million rooms in 101 countries before 2050.

Hotel101 shares began trading on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange on July 1, 2025. Its parent company DoubleDragon is led by chairman Edgar “Injap” Sia II, and co-chairman Tony Tan Caktiong.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
