BCDA, Berthaphil to study aviation industry opportunities in Clark

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority has teamed up with industrial estate developer Berthaphil Inc. to conduct a joint study that will identify opportunities for aviation-related industries in the Clark Aviation Capital in Pampanga, and the New Clark City in Tarlac.

Under a memorandum of agreement, the joint study will assess the land use alignment with Clark’s master development plan, infrastructure and support requirements of potential investors, investment demand, and cooperate modes.

This comes as the government seeks to position Clark Aviation Capital as the country’s premier gateway and logistics hotspot, and BCDA’s goal to develop the New Clark City into a globally competitive investment destination.

“Berthaphil has long been a trusted partner of BCDA and a key contributor to the development of the Clark Freeport Zone,” BCDA president and chief executive officer Joshua Bingcang said in a statement.

“This collaboration builds on that partnership and supports Clark’s growth as a competitive aviation and logistics hub,” he added.

The BCDA said Berthaphil, a locator within the Clark Freeport Zone, has expressed interest in expanding aviation-related business ecosystems within the two economic zones.

The agency is mandated to help strengthen the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) while building cities. It also engaged in public-private partnerships to boost public infrastructure such as tollways, airports, seaports, and major real estate developments.

It reported a 20.9% increase in its cash revenues to P14.1 billion in 2025, up from P11.6 billion in 2024, and surpassing its P10-billion target driven by land dispositions, lease arrangements, concession fees, and investment-related receipts.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
