Marcos opens NAIAX off-ramp to Terminal 3

President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. on Friday graced the opening of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Expressway (NAIAX) westbound off-ramp to NAIA Terminal 3 project, which aims to improve access to the said terminal.

''Ito ‘yung Toll Operation Permit para tuluyan nang mai-operate itong bagong… Maiksi lang pero malaking bagay dahil dito ‘yung traffic. Maiiwasan ang traffic dito. It will save approximately one half hour ng traffic sa ating mga commuters, sa ating mga travelers,'' Marcos said.

(This is the Toll Operation Permit... this project will ease the traffic. It will save approximately one half hour of traffic for our commuters and travelers.)

''At ito ay isang bahagi lamang sa mga ating ginagawa para – lalong-lalong na paghanda sa Holy Week,'' he added.

(This is just part of our measures, especially for the Holy Week.)

This project will decongest Andrews Avenue by diverting the volume of vehicle traffic coming from South Luzon Expressway and Lawton.

The Department of Transportation said that from the previous 40 minutes, the travel time from NAIAX to NAIA Terminal 3 would be reduced to five minutes due to the new off-ramp.

In a separate interview with the media after the President’s visit, SMC Chairman Ramon Ang said the project costs about P1 billion.

SMC is the concessionaire and operator of the project, which was completed in December 2025 and opened to the public on March 27, 2026.

Marcos had directed concerned government agencies to develop infrastructure that would improve connectivity and decongest traffic in Metro Manila.

The NAIAX Westbound Off-Ramp to NAIA Terminal 3 Project was constructed to complement NAIA’s modernization under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) program, providing new airport access for smoother, more predictable travel.

Road widening was carried out along Circulo del Mundo Rotonda leading directly to NAIA Terminal 3.
