BPI cards to be temporarily unavailable on select hours of Holy Week
The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) on Thursday announced the temporary unavailability of its debit card services due to systems compliance maintenance activities on select hours during the Holy Week.
In an advisory, the lender said its debit cards will temporarily be unavailable for withdrawals, in-store and online purchases, while credit cards will be unavailable for BPI Flexipay during select hours on the following dates and times:
- from 11 p.m. on April 2, 2026 (Maundy Thursday) to 10 a.m. on April 3, 2026 (Good Friday)
- from 11 p.m. on April 4, 2026 (Holy Saturday) to 10 a.m. on April 5, 2026 (Easter Sunday)
“However, BPI Credit Cards will remain available for in-store and online straight purchases, though access may be intermittent. We encourage you to do transactions ahead of time,” the advisory read.
Most branches of Philippine banks are closed on April 2 and 3, which were earlier declared as regular holidays in commemoration of the Holy Week, but their digital banking services and automated teller machines (ATMs) will continue to be available. — RSJ, GMA News
