GMA Network showcases dominance at YouTube “Unstoppable” 2026 trade event
GMA Network took pride in its leadership in television and YouTube viewership at YouTube's “Unstoppable” 2026 trade event.
According to Lizelle G. Maralag, Chief Marketing Officer of GMA Network, “close to 5.2 billion views and this has been going up again and again. On an average per month, we’re talking about 200 million views on GMA shows alone in youtube. 70% of the total views of the top 25 tv content in youtube are from GMA, that’s 18 different shows…”
She also explained the importance of trust among one’s audience.
“Why is it, why media companies? Because the behavior of online viewing relies on trust. And trust is what we have, hindi po kami ang nagscore sa sarili namin (we did not score ourselves), this was an international based research company Reuters who accorded us this honor for the past five years…they gravitate towards platforms that they can trust and provide content that is relatable. ” Maralag said.
The audience was also given the opportunity to ask questions to comedy and creative genius Michael V. and GMA Creative Director Caesar Cosme, who shared their experiences with the country’s longest-running gag show, Bubble Gang.
“Kailangan grounded ka kasi eh. Kami sa Bubble Gang, we have to make sure na nakakarelate yung audience namin sa mga ginagawa naming material. Ang research lagi, kailangan nakikita mo yung totoong buhay, kung anong nangyayari sa paligid mo.” Michael said.
(You need to be grounded. For us at Bubble Gang, we have to make sure our audience can relate to the material we create. The research always has to reveal what is happening in real life, to what is happening around you.)
Cosme added, “Ako lagi, the road less travelled. Mahirap gawin iyon, pero gagawin ko. Kahit hindi maintindihan ng viewer ang production value, nararamdaman nila ang effort at care na inilagay sa paggawa.”
(For me it’s always the road less travelled. It’s not easy, but that’s what I will do. Even when the viewer doesn’t understand production value, they will feel the effort and care that goes into the creative process.)
When asked what Bubble Gang has that other comedy shows don’t, Michael V. answered, “Siguro it’s the experience ano? Tatlumpu’t isang taon ay hindi biro. Nakuha na ng mga tao sa likod ang tamang formula, tamang flavor. It will take another generation para matutunan iyon, pero sa ngayon, GMA at Bubble Gang pa rin ang nangunguna sa comedy at gag show.”
(It’s probably the experience? 30 years is no joke. The people behind it have found the correct formula, the right flavor. It will take another generation to learn this, but for now, GMA and Bubble Gang have the lead in comedy and gag shows.) —RF, GMA News
