Filinvest’s 20.774-MWp Misamis Oriental solar project gets ERC nod
FDC Green Energy Corp. (FDC Green), a wholly owned subsidiary of Filinvest Group’s FDC Utilities Inc. (FDCUI), has secured a Certificate of Compliance (COC) from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) for its 20.774-megawatt peak (MWp) ground-mounted solar facility in Misamis Oriental.
In a news release on Thursday, FDC Green said the solar facility, located in PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate, Tagoloan, is estimated to generate about 30.2 million kilowatt-hours of annually.
It said the ERC’s issuance of the COC affirmed that the facility met all technical, safety, and regulatory requirements prescribed by the ERC, enabling it to commence commercial operations – signaling its readiness to operate and deliver power to the grid.
“The Certificate of Compliance from the ERC marks a critical step in bringing this project online,” said Juan Eugenio Roxas, president and CEO of FDCUI and subsidiaries, including FDC Green.
“This reflects our commitment to technical and regulatory standards while emphasizing our focus on developing efficient energy systems that promote economic growth and sustainability,” he added.
FDC Green said the facility is poised to contribute additional capacity to the Mindanao grid upon commencing its commercial operations.
“The ongoing energy crisis has underscored the need for reliable and sustainable power solutions,” Roxas said.
“In an environment where global fuel markets are increasingly unpredictable, projects like this highlight the importance of investing in indigenous and renewable energy sources,” he added. — JMA, GMA News
