D&L's EvoEnergi to power 224 McDonald's stores in Luzon
D&L Industries Inc.’s retail electricity supply unit EvoEnergi on Wednesday announced that it has entered into a partnership with Golden Arches Development Corp., the master franchise holder of McDonald’s in the Philippines.
In a news release, EvoEnergi said it was selected through a competitive bidding process by McDonald’s Philippines as the retail electricity supplier for the first phase covering 224 McDonald’s facilities across Luzon.
These are organized into 23 retail aggregated groups, representing a combined demand of around 22 megawatts within the franchise areas of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), Pangasinan III Electric Cooperative Inc. (PANELCO III), and Batangas II Electric Cooperative Inc. (BATELEC II).
EvoEnergi is a licensed retail electricity supplier (RES) that provides power supply services to large electricity users such as businesses.
It acts as an electricity retailer for large consumers, helping them purchase power more efficiently and potentially at lower costs.
The company said the collaboration marks the supply of both conventional and renewable energy to the 224 McDonald’s stores in Luzon.
EvoEnergi added that the partnership—the first of its kind for McDonald’s Philippines—supports the Energy Regulatory Commission’s Retail Aggregation Program (RAP), which allows the fast-food chain to combine the electricity demand of its stores within the same distribution utility. This enables it to source more cost-efficient generation supply.
Maximizing RAP also supports McDonald’s Philippines’ plan to continuously expand its store network while improving efficiency, resilience, and sustainability, while reinforcing EvoEnergi’s commitment to integrity and service.
“We are committed to being more than just an electricity supplier—we aim to be a trusted long-term partner, providing stability, transparency, and support that enhance the everyday McDonald’s experience for Filipinos, while upholding the brand’s legacy and standards,” said Julian Lao, president of EvoEnergi.—MCG, GMA News
