Who is Petron's John Paul Ang?

John Paul Ang, the eldest son of tycoon Ramon Ang, was announced as the president and chief operating officer (COO) of Petron Corp., the country’s only oil refiner this week.

Aside from stepping up in Petron Corp., John Paul serves key leadership positions in several companies, including San Miguel Corp. the parent company of Petron, where he is also president and COO.

He is likewise chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Southern Concrete Industries since June 2021, and president and chief executive officer (CEO) of San Miguel Food and Beverages Inc. since June 2024.

Ang has also been president of San Miguel Equity Investments Inc. since December 2023, and president of Guimaras Ridge Property Development Inc., Lucky NIne Properties Inc., and Mabini Properties Inc. since September 2024.

He is also president and chief executive officer of Eagle Cement Corp., and a director of San Miguel Brewery and SMC subsidiaries San Miguel Holdings Corp., SMC Slex Inc., SMC Skyway Corp., SMC NAIAX Corp., San Miguel Aerocity Inc., and SMC Tollways Corp.

Ang graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the Ateneo de Manila University. — RSJ, GMA News
