Cebu Pacific Q1 2026 profit up 300%
Budget carrier Cebu Pacific reported a 300% increase in its core income for the first quarter of the year, driven by the double-digit growth in its revenues as the company hit record passenger volume during the period.
Cebu Pacific said its core income grew to P1.3 billion from P325 million last year, as total revenue climbed 10% to P33.3 billion. Ancillary revenue gained 19% to P9 billion, while cargo revenue increased 8% to P1.8 billion.
The company carried 7.5 million passengers in the three-month period, reflecting an 8% increase from last year and a seat load factor of 83.7%. This brought passenger revenue up 6% to P22.5 billion.
“Our first-quarter performance reflects the strength of our network and disciplined capacity deployment,” Cebu Pacific chief executive officer Mike Szucs said in an emailed statement.
“As we navigate a more volatile operating environment amid higher fuel prices, we are taking a more cautious and measured approach focused on margin protection, prudent capacity deployment, and liquidity preservation,” he added.
The company said it is taking a “cautious and measured” approach for the second quarter amid volatile global fuel prices due to the Middle East conflict. — VBL, GMA News
