Hotel101 to open 2,229 rooms in 2026

Hotel101 Global Holdings Corp. expects to start generating high recurring revenues from its portfolio this year, as the company said on Tuesday it is set to open a record 2,229 rooms across its key developments in the Philippines, Spain, and Japan.

Hotel101 said the room openings for the year include 680 rooms in Madrid, Spain, which started to generate revenues in March; 519 rooms in Davao; 548 rooms in Cebu; and 482 rooms in Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan, which will open in December.

“2026 is set to be the year with DoubleDragon to start generating a high volume of recurring revenues from its portfolio of provincial community mall leasing, industrial warehouse leasing, office leasing, and hospitality portfolio in the Philippines and overseas,” it said in an emailed statement.

Hotel101-Madrid reported over €100,000, or some P7.18 million, in recurring room revenues on May 19, 2026, alone, as it posted 100% occupancy. The property was designated as the “Official Hotel” partner for the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix from 2026 to 2035.

In January, Hotel101 announced plans to develop a 766-room hotel in the Melbourne Central Business District, set to be the biggest in the area.

The company’s first three overseas projects are located in Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan; Madrid, Spain; and Los Angeles, California, in the United States. It is expanding to other areas as it aims to accumulate a portfolio of 1 million rooms in 101 countries before 2050. —VBL, GMA News
