PAL, Qantas expand frequent flyer partnership
Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has expanded its partnership with Qantas Airways, allowing members of both carriers’ loyalty programs to use their points across both flight networks.
Under the expanded frequent flyer partnership, Mabuhay Miles members will be able to use their miles to book flights across Qantas’ international and domestic network including destinations in Australia.
Qantas Frequent Flyer members will also be able to book flights in Philippine Airlines’ network, which covers destinations acros the Philippines and Southeast Asia.
“Through our partnership with Qantas, we are expanding access to destinations that complement our network, particularly across Australia, while giving members greater flexibility in how they use their miles,” PAL president Richard Nuttall said in a statement.
“Many of our members want their points to take them furthern than just the major hubs. Partnering with Philippine Airlines opens up more of Asia and adds 15 destinations previously missing form our partner network,” Qantas Loyalty chief executive officer Andrew Glance said.
PAL in March said it has secured enough jet fuel to sustain its operations for the foreseeable future, amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. —Jon Viktor Cabuenas/RF, GMA News
