CDC, Casino Plus recognized for cultural initiative

Clark Development Corporation’s cultural heritage initiative, Via Crucis, which was backed by Casino Plus through the Stotsenberg Leisure Park and Hotel Corporation and its CSR arm, the Color Your World Foundation, fetched the Best Emerging Concept Performance Award at the 3rd Philippine LEAF Awards.

In a news release, Casino Plus said the initiative aims to bridge cultural gaps and preserve Filipino religious customs for younger generations.

During Lent, the company said the initiative boosted community engagement through:

  • Interactive Stations of the Cross
  • Live reenactments
  • Organized Visita Iglesia activities

Casino Plus added that the project aligns with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation’s (PAGCOR) focus on cultural preservation, showcasing Casino Plus's efforts to contribute to nation-building outside of gaming.

During a recognition ceremony at the CDC Children’s Park, CDC President and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera said, "The recognition of Stotsenberg is a fitting way of saying welcome to our efforts of building and rebuilding our country, our Clark."

Michael Angelo Horfilla, director for CSR at Casino Plus, said, “This recognition reinforces the value of investing in programs that preserve our shared heritage and strengthen our identity as Filipinos.”

Casino Plus said the recognition highlights the success of public-private partnerships in driving cultural impact.

Moving forward, the company said Casino Plus and the Color Your World Foundation plan to expand their CSR framework to focus on sustainable community enrichment and heritage preservation. — VBL, GMA News
