Paying via Garmin smartwatch now in PH
Technology company Garmin, known for its fitness smartwatches, has officially rolled out its contactless payment service, Garmin Pay, in the Philippines.
The initiative enables users of compatible Garmin smartwatches to make tap-to-pay transactions directly from their devices at supported payment terminals nationwide.
In a news release, Garmin said the service was made available through strategic partnerships with GoTyme Bank and EastWest Bank and powered by the global payment networks of Visa and Mastercard.
To activate the feature, users must link their eligible EastWest or GoTyme cards via the Garmin Connect mobile app on their smartphones.
“Garmin has always been committed to creating products and developing features that help people make the most of their active lifestyles, both on and off the move,” said Jamie Su, country manager, Garmin Philippines.
“With Garmin Pay now available in the Philippines, we’re able to make everyday payments more convenient for users while expanding the connected experience of our products across our ecosystem,” said Su.
Garmin said the launch of Garmin Pay reflects its continued commitment to building a more connected ecosystem that supports both performance and everyday convenience, empowering users with technology that moves with their lifestyles.—AOL, GMA News
