Emperador sets P2.4-B spending program for 2026
Emperador Inc. has set aside P2.4 billion for capital spending this year, lower than in previous years as major capital-intensive projects have been completed, with bulk of the spending earmarked for its whiskey segment.
According to Emperador Inc., more than half of the spending will be for the building of warehouses and maturation sites, along with the facility upgrades for its whisky business. The remainder will be for the brandy business, including the upgrade of production and distribution facilities.
"The capex for 2026 is lower compared to previous years due to the completion of numerous capital-intensive projects in the past years," it said.
Emperador has completed the expansion of its Dalmore distillery which doubles capacity, while warehouses have been constructed to store the additional liquid for aging. It has also completed the biomass boiler in Jura and the bioenergy center in Invergordon.
The company reported a 4.5% growth in its first-quarter net profit to P1.9 billion, as revenues climbed 6% to P13.3 billion due to hiker brandy and whisky sales.
Emperador has manufacturing facilities in the Philippines, United Kingdom, Spain, and Mexico, as well as distribution across 100 countries around the world.
The company's product portfolio includes Emperador Brandy, Fundador Brandy, and single malt whiskies The Dalmore, Fettercairn, Jura, and Tamnavulin. — VDV, GMA News
