Casino Plus expands market presence through short-form drama
Digital gaming and entertainment platform Casino Plus is expanding its market presence by entering the fast-growing short-form drama segment.
In a news release on Wednesday, Casino Plus announced the debut of "Bathala," a micro-drama series adapted from one of its flagship gaming titles.
The company said its foray into the short-form drama space marks a "strategic shift" toward the convergence of digital media and gaming.
The premiere episode of "Bathala" was released on July 9, 2026.
According to Casino Plus, the pilot episode garnered nearly 80,000 views across social media platforms within its first week.
The company said the initiative is part of an aggressive strategy to capture the changing media consumption habits of Southeast Asia's mobile-first audience, which is increasingly gravitating toward vertical video content.
"The local entertainment market is evolving rapidly from long-form television toward premium, short-form vertical reels," said Evan Spytma, CEO of Casino Plus.
"With Bathala, we are driving this transition by pairing cinema-grade production with mobile-first distribution. This approach delivers culturally relevant storytelling that aligns with how modern audiences consume media," Spytma said.— MCG, GMA News
