The Manila regional trial court has ordered the arrest of former Citibank executive Francis Bryan Ang , a son of the Councilor Bernie Ang, for alleged theft and syndicated estafa involving P138 million.   “After an evaluation of the informations filed, the affidavits of witnesses attached thereto and all other supporting documents, this court finds probable cause for the issuance of a warrant of arrest against the accused,” Manila RTC Branch 55 Judge Josefina Siscar said in the one-paged warrant she issued.   The Department of Justice filed before Siscar’s sala 87 counts of qualified theft against Ang for diverting his clients’ funds to his personal accounts. The case stemmed from syndicated estafa complaints Citibank filed against Ang for allegedly tampering documents to make 82 illegal transactions involving amounts of P97,003,540 and $832,000 into one account and P1.6 million and $43,000 into another personal account. The DOJ panel did not recommend bail for Ang. — RD/ELR, GMA News
