Philippines banks are being considered for a secure mobile point of sale (mPOS) solution provided by a company that deals in mobile commerce.
In a statement Friday, Singapore-based SCCP Group said its mobile payment platform Swiff is looking for bank partnerships in the Asia Pacific for its mPOS system, and identified Philippine banks, which it noted use one of the most sophisticated technologies in electronic banking.
“This is an exciting time for the payment industry, with technology being the bedrock for enhanced mobility, payments, convenience and productivity improvements,” said SCCP Group chief executive officer and founder Jerome Cle.
“Clients of banks in Asia including the Philippines stand to benefit from the flexibility and convenience of the mPOS solution.”
Swiff’s mobile platform is embedded with a Multi-Factor Authentication application that has the ability to track the mobile device, the staff who authorized the transaction, and identify the location where the payment was transacted.
Because of this, any possible fraudulent use of a credit card can be quickly identified. The platform aims to provide high-level security for safe and secure card transactions.
“Increasingly, people are changing their payment habits and are more willing to use cashless systems through mobile devices to do banking, money transfer, and commerce activities,” said SCCP Group executive vice-president Erik Holst-Roness.
