The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is looking to train more than 100,000 construction workers for the Duterte administration's multitrillion-peso infrastructure plan.

TESDA chief Alvin Feliciano told Unang Balita that the government needs to recruit 150,000 construction workers and only 25,000 people have signified interest to enroll to the program during the first National Technical and Vocational Education and Training Enrollment and Jobs Bridging last month.

He said TESDA will hold a second event on April 5 and 6 to get more enrolees.

The training is free, he said.

The Finance Department has said the Duterte administration will build six airports, nine railways, three bus rapid transits, 32 roads and bridges, four seaports, four energy facilities, 10 water resource projects, five flood control facilities, and three redevelopment programs under the the  Build, Build, Build plan.

The government said it will spend over P8 trillion for the country's "golden age of infrastructure." —Anna Felicia Bajo/ALG, GMA News
