PCSO to hold special draw for tickets purchased prior to lockdown –Garma

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) on Saturday announced that they will conduct a special draw for bettors who purchased their tickets before the community quarantine, once the agency resumes operations.

"Once we will resume operations, 15 days po ito na magkakaroon kami ng special draw," PCSO General Manager Royina Garma said at the Laging Handa interview.

"Itong six days na nakabili na po ang taongbayan ng advance ticket, ido-draw po namin 'yan once na magre-resume kami," she added.

Garma said they have already simulated a draw.

"Kung mananalo sila, ang importante lang po is naitago nila ang ticket nila, so valid pa rin po lahat po iyon," Garma said.

On June 7, the PCSO announced that it will slash the lotto ticket price to P20 from P24, once the gaming operation resumes.

"Babalik po kami ng P20 inclusive na po ang VAT (value-added tax),” Garma told Dobol B sa News TV last Sunday.

In 2018, the PCSO increased the lotto ticket price from P20 to P24.  Under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law, lottery tickets were subjected to higher document stamp taxes, prompting the PCSO to increase the prices of lotto. —LBG, GMA News
