DOLE: P60 wage hike in NCR takes effect Sept. 26

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Saturday said the P60 daily wage hike in the National Capital Region (NCR) has taken effect starting September 26, 2026.

DOLE Secretary Francis Tolentino made the announcement at the DOLE Central Office in Intramuros, Manila.

This would bring the daily minimum wage in NCR from P695 to P755 for non-agricultural workers.

Meanwhile, for those in agriculture, mall retail and service establishments employing 15 workers or less, and small manufacturing establishments regularly employing less than 10 workers, the minimum wage of workers will increase from P658 to P718 per day, DOLE said.

Approximately 1.1 million minimum wage earners in NCR will benefit from the wage hike, which is provided for under Wage Order No. NCR-28.

“Dito natin naipakita ang kabuluhan ng isang tripartite mechanism kung saan ang pamahalaan, ang employers’ groups, at ang employees’ groups ay nagkakaisa para isulong at iangat ang dangal ng manggagawang Pilipino at maipakita rin na sa pagkakaisang ito ay makapagsulong ng isang sustainable economy dito sa NCR,” Tolentino said.

The wage hike process was undertaken by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-NCR (RTWPB-NCR) and confirmed by the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC).

Tolentino said employers must strictly comply with the new wage rates and ensure their payroll and compensation systems reflect the wage hike.

DOLE said it will monitor compliance with the wage order and provide guidance to employers and employees regarding its implementation. —KG, GMA News
