New DICT chief De Claro meets with department officials
Joseph Montes de Claro visited the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) headquarters in Quezon City on Wednesday after he was appointed as its new secretary.
In a Facebook post, the DICT said that De Claro met with senior executive officials, directors, and other department personnel.
“As the Department moves forward under its new leadership, DICT remains committed to strengthening public service delivery and ensuring that the benefits of technology reach every Filipino, in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s vision for a digitally empowered Philippines,” the DICT said in a statement.
De Claro previously led the Social Security System before he was named to replace Henry Aguda in DICT.
Aguda’s resignation happened amid the controversy on the ban of online platform Discord.
For his part, De Claro said that he will review all the projects of the department and that “there should be a clear-cut plan on how to take DICT on where it should be.” — Vince Angelo Ferreras/BM, GMA News
