Citing the continued lowering of prices in the world market, dealers of liquefied petroleum gas rolled back prices of their products.
The LPG Marketers Association brought down prices by P1 per kilo or P11 per 11-kilo tank starting 12:01 a.m. Sunday, radio dzBB reported.
LPGMA party list Rep. Arnel Ty was quoted in the report as saying this would bring down the prices of their products from P584 to P573.
The last price rollback occurred last June 21, when the LPGMA also rolled back prices by P1 per kilo or P11 per 11-kilo tank.
"Malaki ang binabagsak ng contract price kaya ito advance rollback. Supposed to be for next month ito (We are expecting a big rollback in contract prices of LPG in July. This is an advance rollback of sorts)," Ty said in an interview on dzBB radio.
Ty also said contract prices of LPG had been dropping for the last four months. He said they expect the trend to continue in July.
LPG dealers had brought down prices of their products in past weeks, citing the downward trend of contract prices of the commodity.
The price rollbacks have been a relief for households and small businesses using cooking gas, who had been reeling from rising costs of living. — ELR, GMA News
