Aquino approves 2 new LRT line projects

The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board has approved the development of two new Light Rail Transit line projects.
The NEDA Board chaired by President Benigno Aquino III approved the P64.71-billion Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 6 Project. which will be from Niyog, Bacoor in Cavite to Dasmariñas City.
The P42.89-billion LRT Line 4 project, an 11-kilometer rail from SM City Taytay to the intersection of Ortigas Avenue and EDSA, also secured approval from the NEDA Board.
The board also gave its go-ahead to the construction of a new low-cost carrier passenger terminal building at Clark International Airport in Pampanga.
The project, which will cost P15.354 billion, will be able to accommodate about 15 million passengers once finished.
The board also approved the P3.533-billion Naga airport development project, which will involve the reorienting of the airfield in the area.
The NEDA Board likewise approved the Department of Energy’s P4.891-billion effort to provide assistance for solar home systems and rural power generation facilities. Some P2.82 billion for this project will be sourced from official development assistance from the European Union. —ALG, GMA News
