Pinoys now look for job security in employment search
Employments seekers in the Philippines consider job security the most important factor in looking for work, a report released by JobStreet.com on Wednesday showed.
In a briefing in Pasig City, JobStreet Philippines Country Manager Philip A. Gioca said job seekers now focus on job security.
"In this year's list, employees look for job security, opportunities for career advancement, as well as perks and benefits," he said.
"What strikes us the most is that salary is no longer their top priority. It could be because of the country's economic and political scene where there is a bit of instability," he added.
In the JobStreet 2017 Top Companies Report, respondents to a survey of junior executives and fresh graduates said they now want job security.
"I think one of the attributes we have to look at in the survey is the presence of the millennials. More than 50 percent of the respondents are millennials," Gioca said.
"Before, we have been saying that millennials are shifters. I think they have learned that taking that route is not healthy for their careers," he added. — VDS, GMA News
