Aviation industry professionals—pilots, navigators and flight engineers—were the highest-paid occupations last year, a survey by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) showed.
According to the 2016 Occupational Wages Survey (OWS), aircraft pilots, navigators and flight engineers received the highest monthly wage rate of P116,714 among various time-rated workers on full-time basis.
"This was followed by securities and finance dealers and brokers with monthly pay of P89,831. Civil engineers and actuaries came next in the 3rd and 4th slots with P68,957 and P60,477, respectively," the PSA said.

Time-rated workers on full-time basis are paid on the basis of an hour, day or month and who work at jobs with hours of work equal to or more than those considered normal or regular to the establishment.
Other highly paid occupations last year were computer programmers with P52,331; system analysts and designers with P51,069; computer engineers with P49,335; accountants and auditors with P47,756; production supervisors and general foremen with P47,101; and statisticians with P41,480.
The OWS is a nationwide survey of establishments which employ 20 or more workers.
The survey is conducted every two years with the main objective of generating statistics for wage and salary administration and wage determination in collective bargaining. — Ted Cordero/VDS, GMA News
