Luzon grid on yellow and red alerts on Tuesday, April 23, 2019
The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines on Tuesday announced that the Luzon grid will be placed on yellow and red alerts.
The yellow alert will be from 9 to 10 a.m. and again from 4 to 10 p.m.
The red alert, on the other hand, will be effective from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Available Capacity – 10,576MW
Peak Demand – 10,536MW
Details on the cause to be announced by the Department of Energy (DOE) later in the day.
The NGCP said the available capacity of the Luzon grid is 10,576MW while the peak demand is at 10,536MW.
In a separate statement, the Department of Energy said the following plants were affected by the earthquake:
- GN Power Unit 1 and 2 - 690 MW
- SCPC Units 1 to 4 - 600 MW
The NGCP also reported that the Mexico-San Simon 69 kV line is presently undergoing repairs.
"PELCO II has reported the partial restoration within its service area with subsequent re-energization subject to the rehabilitation efforts of the NGCP on the distribution lines leading to PELCO II," according to the DOE. —With Ted Cordero/KG, GMA News
