Al Panlilio to return to PLDT as Chief Revenue Officer

PLDT Inc. on Thursday announced a change in its leadership, with its current Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) set to step down next month.

In an emailed statement, PLDT said Alfredo Panlilio, who previously served as Senior Vice President of PLDT in 1999, is set to return to the company as CRO of both PLDT and its mobile subsidiary, Smart Communications, starting July 1, 2019.

Panlilio currently serves as the Senior Vice President of the Customer Retail Services (CRS) Group of the Manila Electric Company (Meralco), another member of the Pangilinan group.

He will take over from Ernesto Alberto, who is set to step down from his post as PLDT and Smart CRO effective June 30, 2019.

"We would like to thank Eric for his 16 long years of service and loyalty. Under his watch, PLDT Enterprise rose to become the leading force that it is in the market today," PLDT Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Manuel Pangilinan said.

PLDT in 2018 registered a 7-percent decline in its core income at P25.855 billion, while its reported net income grew 41 percent to P18.916 billion.

On a pro-forma basis, revenues from data and broadband rose 37 percent year-on-year to P90.2 billion, accounting for 60 percent of the total in 2018.

"Meantime, I would like to welcome back Al and call on everyone in PLDT and Smart to provide him with all the needed support, and, to continue working closely together to pursue the digital transformation of our business and to provide the best possible service to our customers and the public," said Pangilinan. —Jon Viktor D.
