BSP launches peso bills with Diokno’s signature

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) on Wednesday officially launched the new generation currency banknotes bearing the signature of Governor Benjamin Diokno.

Launched in Manila City, Diokno said the banknotes were printed with more security features using the intaglio printing technology to emboss the bills.

Diokno stepped in as the BSP Governor on March 5 this year, taking over the post left behind by the late Governor Nestor Espenilla Jr.

Espenilla passed away in February, after battling tongue cancer for more than a year. —VDS, GMA News
