Mislatel Consortium will receive its permit as the country’s third major telecommunications company in a ceremony to be held in Malacañang on Monday.

President Rodrigo Duterte will lead the awarding of the certificate of public convenience and necessity (CPCN) to Mislatel in the event slated for 5 p.m, according to a Palace media advisory.

Expected to attend the event were government officials and executives from Mislatel Consortium, which is composed of China Telecommunications Corp., Dennis Uy’s Udenna Corp. and Chelsea Logistics Holdings Corp.

Mislatel spokesperson Adel Tamano was already in the Palace as of this posting.

In May Congress, approved the transfer, sale, or assignment of the controlling interest of Mindanao Islamic Telephone to businessman Udenna Corp., its subsidiary Chelsea Logistics, and state-owned China Telecom.

Mislatel said in June that it will start its network rollout this month. —NB, GMA News
