Customs seizes P80M worth of fake N95 masks, smuggled cigarettes in Bulacan


The Bureau of Customs on Wednesday apprehended P80 million worth of smuggled cigarettes and fake N95 masks at a warehouse in Barangay Sta. Rosa, Marilao, Bulacan.

In a statement on Thursday, the BOC said that its operatives through the Enforcement and Security Services Quick Reaction Team, the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency raided the  warehouse and discovered 1,000 master cases of illicit cigarettes which included brands such as Marlboro premium cigarettes.

Authorities also seized 648 boxes of fake N95 masks which copied designs and logos of famous luxury fashion brands.

The seized items have been transported to the ESS Security Coral located at the Port of Manila for further inventory and investigation. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
