Agri damage due to Ulysses now at P4.7B —NDRRMC
The damage to agriculture brought by typhoon Ulysses has increased to P4.7 billion, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Thursday.
According to NDRRMC spokesman Peter Paul Galvez, most of the agricultural damage was from Regions II and III.
Earlier, NDRRMC executive director Ricardo Jalad said the damage to infrastructure already rose to 10.79 billion.
Galvez said a total of 25,710 families are still being served inside 467 evacuation centers nationwide.
Galvez said the Philippines has received international donations from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, European Union, the United States of America, Australia and United Arab Emirates.
The donations include shelter kits, sleeping materials, hygiene kits as well as food and blankets for typhoon victims.
Jalad had said more or less P200 million worth of assistance from local agencies has already been extended to the victims of the typhoon.
He said the Department of Social Welfare and Development continues its relief operations for the affected individuals. — BM, GMA News
