Common station now 51% complete –DOTr's Tugade

The common station linking at least four rail lines in the National Capital Region is now 51% complete, Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade announced Saturday.

“After more than seven years of delay, COMMON STATION is now 51% complete,” Tugade said in a Facebook post.

The secretary said the construction of the common station — which will interconnect the LRT-1, MRT-3, MRT-7, and the Metro Manila Subway — was at a full, accelerated pace.

In April, the Department of Transportation said the partial operability of the station was pushed back to the fourth quarter of 2021 due to an undisclosed reason.

“Once operational, the Common Station is expected to serve approximately 478,000 passengers daily,” he said.

The station was initially set to become operational by the end of 2020. — DVM, GMA News
